H-E-B IS FINALLY GOING TO OPEN A STORE IN DALLAS

No more driving to Plano, Waxahachie, or Frisco to visit your local H-E-B (or settling for a Central Market trip to get H-E-B store brand products and walking out with $200 more in groceries than you actually needed because the bakery was so tempting). H-E-B has officially announced it will open its first store in the city of Dallas.

That’s the good news. The bad news for some Dallasites is that it will be in Far North Dallas on Hillcrest at LBJ — or, as it’s known to those of you who just got here, Loop 635 — between 75 and the Dallas North Tollway.

At this point, the brief press release from H-E-B only reveals that the land has been purchased and that the next step will be “work[ing] closely with neighbors and city officials on rezoning and planning efforts.” The site is a whopping 10 acres. No opening date has yet been set, so our best guess is to look for it in 2026.

“While we have a lot of work to do, we look forward to connecting with our neighbors, the city, and community stakeholders to ensure we create a destination that best supports this community,” Mabrie Jackson, Public Affairs Managing Director for H-E-B and Central Market said in the release. ”This is the first step in a long process, and we hope to share more details with our neighbors soon.”

You can us both, Ms. Jackson.
