ENTER AYALA MUSEUM FOR FREE ON INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY

(SPOT.ph) It's finally May! Aside from Flores de Mayo and the last hurrah of the dry season, this month also brings with it an important day for all museum-goers. Yes, International Museum Day is right around the corner, and that means all your favorite museums will be having special offers and exhibitions.

Kicking things off is the Ayala Museum. In celebration of International Museum Day, the private museum is waiving all their fees for one day this month. Check out what we know about this one-day-only affair.

Here's what to expect on International Museum Day at the Ayala Museum:

International Museum Day is going to be on May 19, and in celebration of all things arts and culture, the Ayala Museum and the Filipinas Heritage Library are waiving all their fees just for this day.

On this Sunday, guests can have access to all the museum's galleries for free. Aside from that, guests for International Museum Day festivities will also be among the first to see the refreshed and updated "Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures in the Philippines" exhibition. 

Workshops and activities will also be available on May 19. Guests can join the  Arts and Crafts in Gold workshop as well as watch streams of Pre-colonial educational videos.

Note that slots to visit the museum on said date are limited. You can book your visits through the Ayala Museum website and their pre-registration link which will soon be available to the public. No walk-ins will be entertained on this date.

How to book visits to the Ayala Museum

If you can't make it on May 19, you can still visit the other exhibits on other days. Book slots for touring the Ayala Museum on regular days through their website. Note that an online reservation is required before your visit. Entrance fees to the Ayala Museum and to access the nine exhibits on display are as follows:

  • Regular (All exhibitions) - P650
  • Discounted Rates for  Senior Citizens, PWDs, students, and children aged 12 and below (All exhibitions) - P350

The Ayala Museum, among the best-known private museums in the Philippines, houses a rich collection of relics and art including precolonial and modern period objects, paintings, and other significant cultural ephemera.
