ICYDK, The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is happening from September 11 to 15 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay. The MIBF is the country's largest and longest-running book event, and when you're there it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But not to worry, we've compiled a handy guide complete will all the information you're going to need for a successful MIBF visit. So, ready your shopping list, pad your wallets, and make room on your shelves—here's everything you need to know about the Manila International Book Fair 2024.

Here's your guide to the Manila International Book Fair 2024:

This year, the Manila International Book Fair is taking over two floors of the SMX Convention Center from Wednesday, September 11 to Sunday, September 15. Bookworms can come as early as 10 a.m. and stay until closing at 8 p.m. 

Aside from hosting local publishers and bookstores, the MIBF 2024 will also feature book printers, foreign publishers, embassies, art and craft suppliers, artist groups, tech businesses, paper suppliers, libraries, etc. These exhibitors will be offering tons of discounts and exclusive promotions. Select publishers will be offering special MIBF-only copies of their best-selling books, making this fair the best place to go if you're looking to fill your bookshelves with all the latest and hard-to-find titles without breaking the bank. 

TBH, with the sheer amount of products on display, you can even do early Christmas shopping here for your loved ones. Just make sure to bring extra patience as you can expect long lines and tons of people, especially if you're going on a weekend.

Exhibitors and Venue Map for the Manila International Book Fair 2024:

MIBF 2024 will be showcasing the largest and most comprehensive selection of reading materials, craft supplies, and educational aids as it welcomes over 200 local and international distributors. Which means the book fair is taking up a larger physical space to accommodate more booths. From the previous single floor setup, this year's Manila International Book Fair will have booths and sellers on both floors of the SMX Convention Center.

Here are the booths on the first floor of the Manila International Book Fair 2024:

Crowd-favorite stalls on the first floor include: Fully Booked and the returning National Book Store for mainstream reads; Philippine titles, primary and secondary school text books, and children's books from Adarna House, Anvil Publishing, Vibal Publishing, Central Books Supply, and Phoenix Publishing; Filipiniana books from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Rex Education, University of the Philippines Press, University of Santo Tomas Press, Ateneo Press, Far Eastern University Press and many more. 

Aside from these exhibits, a food area with some quick bites and a few tables and chairs for resting will also be on the first floor.

Although the second floor area of the Manila International Book Fair may not be as vast as the one on the ground level, it's worth a visit as many other local publishers such as Summit Media, PSIcom Publishing, Milflores Publishing, The Indie Publishers Collaboration and many more will have their booths here. Aside from book publishers, the second floor will also showcase publishers specializing in komiks and graphic novels such as Komiket, Comic Odyssey, Anino, Kawangis, 19th Avenida Publishing and more. 

Booths dedicated to stationery, arts and craft supplies, as well as some educational toys such as Pilot Pens, Gentle Star Trading, Kairos Crafts, and M&G Stationery can be found here.

Pocket events during the Manila International Book Fair:

The Manila International Book Fair is not just a place where you can shop for books all day, there are also a bunch of pocket events and acitivities where guests can really do a deep dive into the book and publishing industry.

For those interested in the business side of publishing, the MIBF provides an avenue to meet with like-minded folks and explore opportunities for printing, advertising, and other aspects of book production. Opportunities for networking abound as representatives from top publishers and production supply companies will be in attendance. 

Readers interested in meeting the people behind their favorite titles can also participate in book signings, talks, and workshops hosted by authors and their publishers. 

Additionally, teachers and other education specialists are also welcome to watch product demonstrations on the latest gadgets and advancements in educational media.

How to get tickets to the Manila International Book Fair 2024:

As with the previous years, entrance to the Manila International Book Fair is free. Prior to heading to the SMX Convention Center, print out your tickets from any of the following exhibitors:

Note that one printed ticket is good only for one person but you can print out as many tickets as you would like. If you can't print out your ticket, walk-in guests to the Manila International Book Fair will have to pay a minimal fee of P20 for students, PWD, and the elderly, and P35 for adults.
