PAGASA PLANETARIUM IN QUEZON CITY REOPENS THIS SEPTEMBER

The PAGASA Planetarium in Quezon City reopens to the public on September 9 after extensive renovations.

"PAGASA would like to inform the general public that its planetarium at the PAGASA Central Office in Quezon City has completed its renovation and is now open to the public," the agency's statement reads.

Established in 1977 under PAGASA's Astronomy Research and Development Section, the planetarium was upgraded to accommodate 90 seats while maintaining a child-friendly environment, making it an ideal destination for young space enthusiasts. The planetarium offers educational and entertaining shows on basic astronomy and celestial navigation, presenting complex concepts in a fun way for kids.

The PAGASA Planetarium, located along BIR Road in Quezon City, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, with an admission fee of only P25. For inquiries, you can contact Engr. Ma. Rosario Ramos, Chief of the Space Science and Astronomy Section, at (02) 8284-0800 (loc. 3015, 3016, 3017).

What can you expect at the PAGASA Planetarium?

Visitors to the PAGASA Planetarium can look forward to an engaging and educational experience. Upon arrival, kids will be greeted by colorful artwork of planets and stars. The shows, projected onto the ceiling, last about 2 hours and cover the basics of astronomy, including the night sky, celestial bodies, and space exploration. There’s also a canteen where kids can grab a bite and refresh after the show.
