(SPOT.ph) Looking for a new adventure without leaving the city? Manila Ocean Park has something new for you: the first and only biodome in the county is here—and it's definitely worth checking out.

This isn’t all greenery. Inside the Philippine Biodome, you’ll find a variety of creatures coexisting in a space, which is designed to resemble their natural environment. It’s a stark departure from the usual zoo setup where animals are housed in separate, enclosed areas. In replicating nature's ecosystem, visitors get a glimpse into how these animals interact with their surroundings in the wild.

Expect to see exotic birds and marine animals at the biodome. Early eye-catchers include Rufous Hornbills, Cape Fur Seals, and of course, Saltwater Crocodiles!

Take a look inside the Philippine Biodome

It's the birds who are the stars at the Philippine Biodome. Rufous Hornbills, Brahminy Kites, and Sun Conures lend so much color to the greenery that surrounds them. Sun Conures will even perch on your arm during feeding time—and yes, it’s as much fun as it sounds.

If birds aren’t your thing, the biodome also features a Crocodile Tunnel where you can get an unnervingly close look at a 14-foot Saltwater Crocodile. Reptile lovers are also in for a treat with the featured Green Iguanas, Ball Pythons, and Bearded Dragons. If you're lucky, the handlers might even let you touch them!

Reptiles give you the creeps? Head on over to the Asian Small-Clawed Otters and Cape Fur Seals to watch how cute they are as they swim and play in the pond.

Beyond the animal exhibits, visitors can attend the Amphitheater Show & Tell sessions to learn more about animals like Burmese Phyton or Philippine Eagle Owl from their handlers. A Zipline Adventure is also in the works so visitors can catch a birds-eye view of the dome.
