SKY PASADA LAUNCHES ILOCOS NORTE-BATANES FLIGHTS

Regional airline Sky Pasada has launched flights connecting Ilocos Norte and Batanes in the past week, with plans to expand its services further to link Laoag and Calayan moving forward.

In an emailed statement, Sky Pasada said the maiden flight between Ilocos Norte and Batanes was conducted last Saturday, May 4, with the route operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The carrier uses a 15-seater airline for the route, with a fleet consisting of the Let L-410 Turbolet UVP, the Cessna Grand Caravan EX, and the GippsAero GA8 Airvan aircraft.

“In our future plans, magkakaroon tayo ng sea plane na magco-connect ng (we will have sea plans connecting) Hundred Islands and sa iba pang sea ports natin (our other sea ports). Additionally, we plan to establish a Laoag-Calayan route,” Sky Pasada vice president for operations Benedictine Barraquias said.

Barraquias did not commit to a specific timeline for the expansion of the carrier’s route, but said that it targets to establish one station per year, after the Laoag-Batanes station this year, and the Tuguegarao-Calayan route in 2023. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
