ON THIN ICE! MOMENT BRAZEN THIEVES STEAL ICE CREAM AND LOLLIES FROM SAINSBURY'S PETROL STATION

Two thieves were caught on camera shamelessly swiping ice creams and lollies from a Sainsbury's petrol station shop. The incident occurred yesterday (Wednesday 10 Jul) in Alperton, northwest London, despite temperatures outside being a mild 19C.

Dressed entirely in black, the pair nonchalantly filled a large blue bag with the frozen treats. One of them, donning a cap and a Covid-19-style facemask pulled down, stashed the ice creams from the Walls chest freezer while his hooded partner held open the bag.

A shocked customer managed to capture the robbery on his mobile phone in a 19-second video, exclaiming: "No way man. You can't steal his ice creams, buddy. Come on, man."

The duo then made their escape on foot, leaving the Sainsbury's petrol station on Ealing Road, near Wembley. A local resident joked about the incident and said: "Oh my God. But those ice cream and ice lollies will melt." Another quipped: "Did they get hundreds and thousands?"

The video has now gone viral on social media and is now circling on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Reddit. One less enthused viewer on TikTok wrote in the comments: "It wasn’t even a hot day. It’s literally been raining the past week."

A second person added: "stealing ice cream while wearing a hoodie..", whilst someone else put: "They stealing ice cream what they gonna do with that it’s giving a weird and creepy vibe." Another simply said: "Bloody hell! What is this country coming to!"

The Met Police and Sainsbury's have been contacted for comment.
