MEET THE MUSES OF THIS YEAR’S ARTEFINO FAIR

Guided by the theme “KaPAMANA,” this year’s ArteFino Fair instills that our heritage is not a relic of our past, but a living, breathing force that shapes our present and future. 

The annual celebration, happening from August 22 to 25, will transform The Fifth at Rockwell into a vibrant discovery space for over a hundred local brands. The fair was launched in 2017 as a way for Filipino artist-entrepreneurs and communities to tell their stories through their crafts; this year, ArteFino builds on what they started by welcoming an influx of new brands and designers. 

“KaPAMANA is about recognizing the talents we have today who are inspired by the masters of yesterday. It’s finding harmony between tradition and innovation, celebrating the Filipino story in all its complexity and beauty," said ArteFino founders Maritess Pineda, Mita Rufino, Cedie Lopez-Vargas, Susie Quiros, and Marimel Francisco.

In telling a story of legacy, ArteFino pairs its partner brands with accomplished personalities who embody what they stand for. The personalities range in industries and generations, reaffirming the fair’s mission of revitalizing heritage for the contemporary condition. 

Gabbi Garcia, Karen Davila, Shaira Luna, Tootsy Angara, and Atty. Leni Robredo are among the muses, all photographed with their partner brands by fashion icon Jo Ann Bitagcol. Photos were shot at the newly-opened SoFA Design Institute at the Proscenium Retail Row. “SoFA has always been part of the ArteFino journey,” said Marimel Francisco, one of the founders. “Our values have always been aligned in that we are both dedicated to fostering the next generation.”

At the venue, attendees will be welcomed by visual artist Leeroy New’s latest installation of Sacred Heart pieces. As the first touch point of the fair, the pieces will set the tone for fresh perspectives and a new creative language.
