Blue plaques for Audrey Hepburn and Marc Bolan announced by English Heritage
Next time you're in London, look out for English Heritage blue plaques. A blue plaque is a permanent marker installed in a public place to commemorate a link between that location and a famous person, event, or former building on the site. Recently, English Heritage announced Hollywood star Audrey Hepburn and T. Rex front man Marc Bolan will be honored with blue plaques in London. Hepburn, who was born in Belgium, will be commemorated in Mayfair, the area where she lived while landing her Academy Award-winning role in 'Roman Holiday' (1953). Marc Bolan, who played a key role in the glam rock movement, became famous for his theatrical style and musical innovation, producing hits like 'Get It On' and 'Ride a White Swan.' English Heritage will also recognize the achievements of novelist Barbara Pym, artist Graham Sutherland, ballerina Alicia Markova, and Jamaican author Una Marson. Across the UK capital, about 950 blue plaques on properties honor the men and women who have lived or worked in them—artists, actors, writers, musicians, novelists, architects, scientists, and politicians, among many others from all walks of life. Browse the following gallery and take a look at who's lived where, and when.

The most risky airport landings (four are in the US)
Flying a plane is no easy feat. It requires precision, quick decision-making, and the ability to handle unpredictable weather conditions, all while ensuring the safety of everyone on board. Thanks to aircraft technology, more efficient air traffic control, and improved training for pilots and mechanics, air travel is safer and more reliable than ever before. Despite this, one of the riskiest parts of any flight remains the final approach and landing, and at some airports around the world this is a nail-biting experience for even the most seasoned of travelers. From Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport, with the shortest runway in the world, to Barra Airport with its beach runway, this gallery features some of the most hair-raising airport landings on the planet.
