APPEAL AFTER HORSE RIDER INJURED AT CORNISH BEACH
A horse rider was injured after two pilots landed at a busy beach in Cornwall, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said.
The CAA has launched an appeal to identify the two people who landed in "microlights" at Par Sands Beach on 28 July.
The authority said the two pilots were observed landing very close to other beach users and "a horse bolted, unseating its rider".
It said the rider sustained a broken collar bone and ribs from the fall which prompted an emergency services response from the HM Coastguard and South Western Ambulance Service.
Suzanne Keenan from the CAA investigation and enforcement team said the beach was reportedly "very busy during the microlight landings".
"Of particular interest would be any photographs or videos of the incident, so that the details of what happened to cause the horse riders injuries can be established,” she said.
She urged anyone with any information, including the pilots themselves, or if anyone knows either of the two individuals involved, to contact the CAA "as soon as possible".
