FERRY SERVICE EXTENDED DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND
A ferry service has been extended for an extra month due to popular demand and positive feedback.
The Saltash Ferry, which connects Plymouth and the town, will continue to operate weekends only in October and the week of the half-term holiday.
Saltash Town Council said the ferry had been popular especially with those visiting from Callington, Trematon, Landrake and Liskeard.
The council confirmed ticket prices would remain frozen at £5 for adults, £2.50 for children (aged three to 15), free for children aged two and under, and £2.50 for bikes.
Plymouth Boat Trips' foot ferry can hold up to 70 passengers and runs between the Royal William Yard and Jubilee Pontoon.
The ferry service, run in partnership with Saltash Town Council, was implemented following a successful trial on 30 March, the operator previously said.
The service was expected to finish for 2024 at the end of September.
