MANCHESTER AIRPORT LAUNCHES PRIVATE TERMINAL PERFECT FOR FOOTBALL WAGS

Manchester Airport has launched a new private terminal in the wake of England football stars' WAGs jet-setting between the UK and Germany to support their partners.

The premium lounge, named Aether, will even provide customers with a private security lane and a chauffeur to drive them to their flight.

A clear demand has been shown this summer, including a fleet of six private jets carrying the partners of Everton's Jordan Pickford, Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and others ahead of the Three Lions' quarter-final victory over Switzerland.

However, the airport will be hoping Gareth Southgate's men enjoy more European trips for their clubs next season as Aether is only set to open its doors on November 4.

Located in a separate building to the main airport, near the Runway Visitor Park, the new terminal is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the main airport.

From the outside, Aether is completely different to the main airport with a curving metal structure and a wooden covered walkway.

Inside, passengers are treated to a spacious reception where they can check-in luggage before indulging in the terminal's full range of amenities.

Guests can then enjoy the main lounge area with contemporary furnishings, seating areas and impressive floor-to-ceiling windows offering incredible views across the airfield and the distant countryside beyond.

The lounge has enveloping leather chairs and office-style stools to suit people who are there to relax but also those who are trying to get some last-minute work done.

Staff at the location will be on hand to serve refreshments throughout visits to Aether which has also partnered with chef Adam Reid, from The French restaurant in Manchester's Midland Hotel, to create an all-day dining experience.

The exclusive terminal will be limited to small groups of around eight to ten people at once - but stag and hen groups are prohibited.

Control freaks might also be wise to steer clear, as there are no departure boards on show as staff monitor your flight progress and tell you when it is time to depart.

A chauffeur-driven BMW - which naturally comes with massage seats - will whisk passengers off for their flights, and the same goes for inbound customers, as Aether even has its own border force area.

Packages for Aether start from £90 per person with bookings already open.

At the bottom end of the tiered offering, customers who fork out £90 for the 'Express' service, available to people with cabin luggage only, can arrive just an hour before their flight for a seamless airport experience.

There are two 'inclusive' packages, for those who are or are not carrying hold luggage, which includes a dining experience in a three-hour stay at the terminal.

The inclusive package with cabin bags only is £150 per person while there is an extra £20 charge if passengers are taking checked luggage.

Guests planning on booking a checked bag package will need to be flying with a partner airline, which includes British Airways and Cathay Pacific, while all other passengers are able to book the cabin bag only options.

With Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa all set for European campaigns from September, Manchester's new luxury flying experience could be in for some good early custom as WAGs follow their partners around the continent in style.
