Yuchengco Museum waives entrance fees for International Museum Day

For two days this month, entrance fees to the Yuchengco Museum are waived from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This special offer is valid on May 17 and 18, Friday and Saturday, which means you can bask in art, history, and culture as much as you want and still get a savings of P200, which is the normal entrance fee at the museum.

Yuchengco Museum joins the Ayala Museum in the list of museums and galleries opening their doors for free to celebrate International Museum Day (IMD). This year, IMD follows the theme "Museums for Education and Research," which highlights the pivotal role of museums as dynamic educational institutions fostering learning, discovery, and cultural understanding.

International Museum Day is annually celebrated by museums worldwide on May 18. During this time, museums across the globe join forces to organize events, exhibitions, and educational programs centered around a chosen theme, emphasizing the invaluable contribution of museums to society.

What to know when visiting the Yuchengco Museum:

Originally conceived as the residence for Ambassador Alfonso T. Yuchengco's personal art assemblage, which showcases a meticulously selected array of artifacts amassed over his tenure as a diplomat, philanthropist, and art benefactor, the Yuchengco Museum was opened in September 2005. It aims to cultivate widespread admiration for art by showcasing premier international and local cultural, historical, and design exhibitions and initiatives. Today, its offerings have expanded to include additional galleries and space for touring exhibitions.

Reservations are no longer required to enter the museum. There's also no strict dress code, meaning you can be as casual or dressed to the nines as you want.

If you can't make it to The Yuchengco Museum this May 17 to 18, the museum is also open on regular Mondays to Saturdays, with admission fees, of course.

Here are the regular rates to visit the Yuchengco Museum:

  • Adults: P200
  • Students, PWDs, Senior Citizens: P100 (please show a valid ID as proof)
