Here are 10 Marikina restaurants to hit up for a bangin' brunch:

Over Easy

Over Easy is one of the newer spots on this list. There's always a long waiting line here because not only is the food really good, the space has a very homey, cozy ambiance that makes it a great place to catch up with friends. Over Easy is relatively less crowded in the early hours, so if you want to grab a quick rice meal or pasta meal for brunch, hit this spot up as soon as it opens.

Over Easy is at G&W Terrazza, Gil Fernando Avenue, Marikina City. It is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays to Sundays. For more information, visit Over Easy's Facebook page.

Comedor by Miguel & Maria

Comedor by Miguel and Maria is a strong resto for all things Filipino, but what only a few people know is that Comedor also serves damn good breakfast fare. Get your choice of Filipino breakfast faves like danggit, lomilongganisa, and many more, along with classic desserts like palitaw and bibingka.  Oh, and we have to mention that you can have unlimited portions for less than P350? Yup. For a good hearty and home-style brekky, you might want to drop by during Comedor's breakfast service.

Comedor by Miguel & Maria is at Gil Fernando Avenue corner C. Buenviaje Street Sto. Nino, Marikina City. It is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays to Sundays. For more information, visit Comedor by Miguel & Maria's Facebook page.

Rustic Mornings by Isabelo

Ask any Marikeño for their go-to brunch spot and they'll most likely mention Rustic Mornings. This oldie-but-goodie resto serves large portions of their all-day breakfast offerings. Pro tip: you can order a bunch of different plates, like pancakes, rice meals, and just share it with the rest of your table. The servings are so big, it's easy to get overwhelmed; if you share with your friends or fam, you can get a bit of a lot more.

Rustic Mornings by Isabelo is at 11 Isabelo Mendoza Street, San Roque, Marikina City. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays to Sundays. For more information, visit Rustic Mornings by Isabelo's Facebook page.

Macky's Eatery

If it's a true-blue Filipino breakfast you're after, especially on a cold rainy day, you might want to hit up Macky's Eatery for a bowl of lugaw or goto. This humble eatery tucked along Marikina's J.P. Rizal Street may not look like the fanciest joint but don't knock their food 'til you try it. Macky's is known to most Marikeños for their banging bowls of rice porridge but don't skip the tokwa't baboy when you visit. Trust us, a serving will have you wanting more.

Macky's Eatery is at 244 J.P. Rizal Street, Sta. Elena, Marikina City. It is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays. For more information, visit Macky's Eatery Sta Elena Marikina's Facebook page.

Rodic’s

Many a UP student would tell you there's no other tapa better than Rodic's. While the original diner is a Quezon City staple, it's nice to know that near Marikina City Hall, there is a branch of this famous tapsilogan, ready to serve your faves from their famous tapsilog to the IYKYK favorite longsilog.

Rodic's Diner is at  4 J. Chanyungco Street, corner Sparrow Street, New Marikina Subd, Sta Elena, Marikina. It is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Mondays to Sundays. For more information, visit Rodic's Facebook page.

Sundays Cafe and Restaurant

Another relatively new player in the food game in Marikina is Sundays, but just like Over Easy, Sundays is also almost-packed always. This cozy, aesthetic cafe-restaurant in Marikina serves up all-day eats from pasta and pizza to rice bowls and pastries. For a satisfying brunch, we recommend trying their selection of waffles with fruity toppings, or for a heartier fare, make sure to try their Homemade Bacon Slab with Kimchi Rice. NGL, it sounds a bit weird at first, but after a few bites, you'll start to realize why this porky-swicy combo slaps.

Sundays Cafe and Restaurant is at J.P. Rizal Street corner V. Gomez Street, Barangay San Roque, Marikina City. It is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays, and from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays to Sundays. For more information, visit Sunday's Cafe and Restaurant's Facebook page.

This 24/7 breakfast joint has many branches, and Marikina is lucky enough to be home to one of them. So anyone from Marikina craving breakfast food for dinner or as a midnight snack is safe from getting hangry.

Kape Cinco Breakfast All Day

Tucked in a highly residential area, Kape Cinco is an if-you-know-you-know type of spot. It's easy to miss as it blends in with the rows of houses surrounding it, but once you make your way into the garden, you'll be treated to a cozy al fresco dining setup that's just bound to give your day a great start. This place serves affordable all-day breakfast staples like the usual silog meals and reasonably priced cups of joe. The ambiance is what really makes this place shine.

Kape Cinco is at 5 Mount Airy Street, Mountain View Subdivision, Sta. Elena Marikina City. It is open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays, and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays to Sundays. For more information, visit KAPE CINCO Breakfast all day's Facebook page.

Crumbly Crust Cafe

Crumbly Crust Cafe is a rooftop cafe that serves all-day breakfast. Bask in stunning views of the surrounding cityscape as you sip your cup of joe and nosh on breakfast rice meals, pancakes, or your choice of creamy milky cheesecakes.  If you decide to head here for merienda instead of brunch, don't worry, they also have a selection of Western comfort food like pasta, nachos, burgers and salads.

Crumbly Crust Cafe is at 5/F NGR Building, 28 Dasdasan, San Roque, Marikina City. It is open from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays to Sundays. For more information, visit Crumbly Crust Cafe's Facebook page.

Pan de Amerikana Bakery & Restaurant

Pan de Amerikana has been a part of the Marikina food scene for a while. It is known for being one of the most Instagrammable spots in the city and is a favorite for events like debuts, engagement parties, and the like, but aside from having top-notch aesthetics, Pan de Amerikana also has good food, especially their baked goods. Make sure to try their pan de sal and ensaymada, but if you're more of a rice-meal-in-the-morning type of person, they also have a wide selection of regional eats from all over the Philippines such as Bicol, Pampanga, Ilocos, Bacolod and many more. For a breakfast with tons of variety, we recommend getting the Almusal Platter (P695), which comes with three breakfast staples like daing na bangus, tocino or Ilokano longganisa, four cups of garlic rice, and four eggs.

Pan de Amerikana is at 92 Gen. Ordoñez Avenue, Marikina Heights, Marikina. It is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays to Sundays. For more information, visit Pan de Amerikana Bakery & Restaurant's Facebook page.
