PUBLIC TO GET VIEWING AREAS FOR JERSEY ROYAL VISIT
The Bailiff of Jersey says there will be "plenty of opportunities for the general public to soak up the atmosphere" of the Royal visit later this month.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be making their first visit to Jersey on Monday 15 July since ascending the throne in September 2022.
The King and Queen are then scheduled to travel to Guernsey the following day.
The Royal visit will include a special sitting of the States which will be accessible for the public to watch.
Jersey Expo Event
Upon arrival to Jersey on Monday, the King and Queen will see the final seven rounds of a 21 Royal Gun Salute at People’s Park.
The King and Queen will then visit the Royal Square for a special sitting of the States Assembly and a Loyal Address given by the Bailiff of Jersey, Sir Timothy Le Cocq.
Upon its conclusion the Royal Court will sit, including a special homage involving the island’s Seigneurs.
The King and Queen will later tour the Jersey Expo Event, which feature a variety of stalls focussing on the island's "agriculture and aquaculture industries".
There will be opportunities along the route for the public to "view Their Majesties on their journey", the Bailiff of Jersey said.
The King will then present the new King's Colour to the Jersey Sea Cadets at the Pomme D’Or Hotel in St Helier.
A King's Parade march past, including the Band of the Island of Jersey, Jersey Field Squadron, Veterans, Blue Light services, Cadet units, Scouts and Guides, will also take place outside the hotel.
The King and Queen will conclude their visit with a community tea party at Liberation Square to meet "a cross-section of the Island community".
Public viewing
The royal visit will end with the King and Queen passing through a guard of honour lining the Esplanade in front of Liberation Station.
Several parts of the visit will feature areas for public viewing as well as the opportunity to watch online via livestream.
The Bailiff of Jersey said further details about general public viewing areas would will be shared next week along with information about road closures in and around St Helier.
